KES Equipment started out as a mining equipment repair company. Slowly, the company began to expand into the design and manufacture of their own mining equipment, with a focus on utility vehicles (ex: scissor lifts, boom trucks). Each vehicle (up to 150hp) has a front end that is unique to KES Equipment, found in all models for easy end-user maintenance and built to handle any mining environment.

Over the years KES Equipment has entered the portable bridge market, specializing in pre-engineered beam bridges ideal for logging applications. Our bridges have been designed for quick installation and to keep quality and cost at its best.

We work on a per client basis to provide mining equipment customized for them. KES Equipment is always looking for new ideas and is willing to take on custom manufacturing jobs given the opportunity. We look forward to working with you!

Kenn Schmitz is a Professional (Mechanical) Engineer in the Province of Ontario. He is a certified Welding Supervisor and has been operating KES Equipment in Elliot Lake, Ontario, for over 10 years.

Kenn has also worked as a Mechanical EIT at Tetra Tech / Wardrop, and has experience as a heavy duty mechanic and labourer. He understands both the physical aspects of the machines (building them, fixing them) and also has the knowledge to come up with different and unique specifications based on customer needs.

He grew up in Northern Ontario and is an avid fisherman. When he's not working, he is always training for some sort of upcoming race - but also enjoys spending time with his family.
